Someone made a balls up!

I booked two rooms via hotelclicks.com and were surprised how reasonable it was. £90 for two rooms including breakfast just outside cardiff - awesome! that was pretty much the end of the good news. my wife and i, arrived at the hotel at 3pm and checked in with no problems. unfortunately my friend and his wife were unable to get to the hotel until 11:30pm as his father was seriously ill and the family had been called in (he later died) upon their arrival, the hotel receptionist, informed them that they did not have a room for them but alternative arrangements had been made at a different hotel, around 10 miles away! they had no choice but to accept. they informed me later (friend not hotel) that the park inn, where they were moved to, told them that the hotel had been oversubscribed and the legacy had made arrangements with the park inn to take the overspill and the rooms had been issued on a first come, first serve basis. naturally i complained to both the hotel and hotelsclick.com but failed to have a response from hotelsclick, managed to get a 50% refund from the hotel but it did spoil our weekend as we didn't get to meet up with our friends
