I've stayed at the swissotel a few times before and this time it was a excellent as ever. the staff are friendly and helpful, amd the rooms are very comfortable. i am very sad that the hotel is closing at the end of this month and is going to be sold and turned into flats.

Brillant hotel have stayed before so new it would be perfect for our stay. approx 2 minute walk from temple tube very easy if arriving from paddington station by tube with a suit case.we had a dinner dance booked on the river so the location was spot on , within walking distance. also if you did want to go to the theatre the strand is approx a 10 mintue walk very easy to do and worth it to stay at this hotel. again the price was excellent as always when i use this website , they beat every website when it comes to deals.

This was the second time that we've stayed at this hotel, and the standards had dropped a little. the room wasn't ready at 4pm when we checked in, so the receptionist gave us a voucher for a free drink and said he would come into the bar to tell us as soon as it was ready. an hour later we went back to the reception, and he'd gone off duty! when we got into the room a housekeeper knocked on the dooor and said she hadn't finished the bathroom and she spent a few minutes on that. it wasn't cleaned particularly well, so perhaps she rushed it. the room was very comfortable, and the view is fantastic, and the main reason why we returned to this hotel. the breakfast was good too. the price we paid by booking through hotelsclick was very reasonable.

Perfect locastion for visiting south bank. a very well run hotel, just beginning to show its age by having impeccable restaurant service, even for a buffet breakfast, but a (very) little tiredness in the bedrooms. windows don't open and the efficient aircon is too noisy, even at lowest fan level. excellent value for london. it would be sensible if the information provided by guests at time of booking were automatically copied into the registration form so that it didn't have to be entered twice.

Great hotel! upon arrival we were greeted with an updrade to a river facing room. the staff were very helpful and the hotel is a fantastic place to stay.

We stayed in london for a full sightseeing weekend and based ourselves at the howard. we were upgraded to a room overlooking the river which was fantastic and the service was second to none. they were attentive without being overwhelming and the room and facilities were great. i fully reccommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

This was our second visit to the howard and once again it didn't dissapoint. we were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic as we were staying 2 nights so it was good to have an area to relax in. this time our booking included continental breakfast which set us up for the day. the drinks were a little on the expensive side but we will certainly go back again.

Conveniently placed for west end, covent garden and tate modern. surrounded by roadworks - replacing london's water supply october 2008 impeccable service though rooms looking a little shabby and not up to 5 star standard eg no flat screen tv best not to pay standard rate for room - overpriced look for half price deals

Great location..but not so great room. i've stayed here before in a room with a balcony overlooking the thames..stunning. without, it's just an overpriced ordinary room. lovely looking lounge area..but more suitable for a business meeting..as sofas certainly not designed to get comfy in, relax and enjoy a drink or two! would suit business person, as central. but definately not a romantic break.

This is a great place to stay, and i would really recommend it, especially if you are looking for a romantic location for a weekend trip. the only thing i would point out is that it's very important to have the right room in this hotel. we had a great view of the river from the eighth floor, and our "suite" was really wonderful. however, we also saw a room on the fourth floor, and that was not nearly as romantic; in fact, one of the windows was really dirty, which is not too great for a hotel in this range. in short, great if you can afford a top-of-the-range room, but not so great if you have to take a "cheap" room.

Great location - ideal for covent garden, drury lane etc. lovely staff - very attentive without being cloying. this is very much a business hotel and as we were there at the weekend for leisure we did find the hotel lacked some of the usual 5 star facilities.

Attentive and discreet service and peaceful. the hotel is right opposite temple tube station and a short walk from the west end and the london eye so very easy to access anything. decor is contemporary and relaxing. i had a room upgrade and probably had the room with the best view in london from a large balcony, stretching from the houses of parliament along the thames to canary wharfe. on a sunny day - stunning! good value for money.

My husband and i had a very pleasant stay. we had a very good deal with hotels click. we both thought the hotel would have been overpriced at the normal tariff. the location was good and the staff very helpful. we would stay again.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic location - and a fantastic view! somehow ended up with a minibar bill which we hadn't used but the problem was immediately resolved with no problems whatsoever. all staff were extremely helpfull and polite. would definitely stop here again - and recommend this hotel to anybody.

This was an excellent find - the location is great, walkable to covent garden, on the embankment and opposite temple tube station. go for a river view room and you wont be dissappointed we were only on the 2nd floor but fab views. the service was first rate and excellent value for money

Perfect location for west end shows, fabulous views over the river-london eye,big ben, westminster etc. small but perfectly formed rooms. bathrooms could be more pleasant- starting to look a little aged around the tiles. service as expected breakfast £18 continental or £23 full english- you would have to eat alot to get your moneys worth altogether pleasant stay but payed the price

A clean and spacious hotel which is also quiet and well-decorated. i think it is also somewhat overpriced, but that's london. facilities in the room were excellent. the location and view were not really as good described or that attractive - for example the rear 'garden' was a small courtyard with some flower beds and surrounded by tall office blocks which overlooked some of the rooms. the view at the front was of the traffic along the embankment. but then i didn't go there for the view, i was there because it is close to where i was visiting and believed it was quiet being on a side road parallel to the main traffic road - which it wss, so that was fine. the reception was good but a little over- fussy. as with the breakfast. however, rather that way than the opposite. one point was a little odd - i was asked if i wanted a morning paper, complimentary, but only one paper was available, i.e. no choice. a bad mark considering the price of the room. in all, however, i liked this place and would go again i think, but might be discouraged with the price.

Front desk was efficient if somewhat cold. the restaurant and garden were closed for a private party and no sort of compensation was offered. the room was clean and the espresso machine was a nice touch. the location is ideal for the 'suits' who work on the strand but the location is just ok if you are a tourist. in fact the majority of guests appeared to be business people.

We are very satisfied with our vist. the hotel is very good situated, well kept, attractively decorated. the room was nice, clean and large room as well as the bathroom. the view was very nice from our room. the staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. the breakfast was nice as well. we will return if we go to london again. highly recommendable hotel.
