Nice hotel, great comfort, no aircondition
We really enjoyed our stay at savoy in berlin. it's situated close to kudamm (5 minutes) and 8-10 minutes from kadewe. savigny platz with many restaurants is 5 minutes from the hotel. we had a standard double room, with a comfortable king size bed, two lounge chairs and a working desk, mini-bar, walk in closet and an old fashioned bathroom where you had to shower in the bathtub, no place to attach the shower head to the wall so you had to hold it while showering. the room looked exactly like the photos on the hotel's web site and was very clean and classical. there are not aircondition except for the few delux rooms on 6th floor, and it was sometimes a bit warm in our room. however we had a balcony and left the door open to let as much air as possible in, and we had in general a comfy stay, a bit noise from work in the street from 6.30 am though. breakfast was included in the price and was very good. excellent sour bread, caffe latte on demand (no extra charge), nice choice of warm and cold, fruit etc. nice presentation. the waiters were very friendly and polite. overall the service was excellent and almost everyone working there was very polite, warm and friendly, except for the young man who worked in the reception upon our arrival late in the evening thursday 5 of august, he was not impolite, but not particularly welcoming either, a bit too efficient perhaps for a first impression of the hotel. in general we had an excellent stay and would recommend a stay here.
