Disappointing

We booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary. location was good for where we wanted and it is central to most places you would want to go. was disappointed with the room, especially for the price, was similar to a travel lodge room. bed wasn't particularly comfy and only one pillow provided. tv was small for the distance from the bed. was advertised to come with touch phone and mini bar and had neither of these. wish i had booked at my second choice hotel for the price, a bit further away but much better rooms.

Great value for its price

It was good for its value, without parking service. large enough room, nice service, friendly staff was goood, but extra charge for parking per a night was £15

Christmas shopping

Nice hotel though wouldn't say it was 4star. location was excellent for shopping, service and staff were excellent they couldn't do enough to help you , and we're friendly. we didn't try the restraunts in the evening as there was a private function there, though we did have breakfast wich was very good. the only problem we had was the car park, we used the n.c.p. behind the hotel, which the hotel advise. we were parked on the fourth floor with luggage and the lift was out of order, this was difficult for us as i've recently had surgery and was struggling to carry bags

Expensive but worth it.

We pop into birmingham for the occasional theatre visit and tie it up with a little shopping. this visit we decided to try the radisson blu as its just round the corner from the hippodrome and also very convenient for shopping. the staff are polite helpful and efficient, the room was clean, tastefull and nicely laid out with plenty of room. the breakfast was both tasty and filling. you can still hear some traffic noise on the 13th floor which was suprising.

Rooms could do with a good clean

We had an excellent nightly rate booking through hotelsclick. the only reason we rated the hotel as average is on account of the housekeeping. we booked three rooms and every one of them could have done with a good clean. the rooms were the grubbiest i have seen in a hotel for some time and i use hotels quite a lot. disappointing in a relatively new building but in fairness to the housekeeping staff, some of the finishes are cheap and not really suitable for commercial use. odd choice of tiles which must be a nightmare to keep clean. cheap finishes to the wardrobes and cupboards and the carpets were stained in places. on the plus side the reception staff were superbly helpful and friendly and the location is really fantastic for shopping (bull ring and mailbox in particular) and for the gay village which is 2 minute's walk away. not sure i would rush back even at a good rate. the holiday inn next door with one less star and usually a little cheaper is just as convenient and certainly cleaner.

Expected better!

Having read previous reviews i expected a lot from this hotel. booked in for 3 nights last week. i booked a double room but was given a twin room. i asked for a change of room which they did. the bathroom had not being cleaned properly, there was no shampoo or shower gel. asked twice before they sorted it. told i could use the gym but the gym had disappeared behind some spa reception hoardings!!! reception staff did not tell me as i trudged up there in my gym gear!! never mind, i lost a few pounds going up and down to reception (3 times on my first evening and they were not very helpful!) television in room is very small and the sound was awful.
