Hotel chosen for location and price and did not disappoint.having researched tripadvisor etc the metropole was the only centrally located hotel that came up to scratch. the location is such that many of the sights are within walking distance, the penalty being that it is quite noisy and the alexandrians are late revellers. the public rooms are delightful, very ornate, turn of the last century french. breakfast spot on to set you up for the day with plenty of variety to suit all tastes.
