Nice location, but the rooms too expensive for the quality

The hotel is located in a very nice and quiet central neighbourhood in london a few minutes walk to paddington underground. but our room was in basement just under the reception and in front the restaurant, so very noisy from very early morning hours. impossible to sleep from about 5 am. in my opinion they should give a considerable reduction for such a room and tell the guests that it is going to be noisy from early morning. the reception was not particularly helpfull or informative about what they could do to help. definitely too expensive for the quality we got also compared to 5-star hotels in the neighbourhood.

Staying in london

The location was good, but hyde park is quite a long way away to walk. i would recommend this hotel for short stays, but not for a week as the rooms were quite small and the airconditioning was not working in the rooms.

Quality crown hyde park

We were quite diasppointed with our stay. last year we also stayed at this hotel and had booked single rooms. but as they were very small, we booked/paid for double rooms this year. however, we got exactly the same size rooms (single), and when i complained at the reception, they told me the hotel was fully booked, so they could not move us to double rooms. i will not use this hotel again, even though the location is perfect.

No air con - but friendly staff

There was no air con within the room and very little ventilation. we were therefore unable to sleep and had to go for a walk at 5am to cool off. the television within the room did not work, and staff were unable to resolve. location was central and accessible, staff were great and breakfast was fantastic. however i was unable to understand the majority off staff.

London stay

There are 3 things we don't like about this hotel. they do not have air-conditioning system, but they did not put it on their website. second, we put a do not disturb sign on the door knob when we went out in the morning because we got our stuff laying around the bed and the desk, including my blackberry. when we came back, the room was cleaned. as much as we appreciated them to clean our room, i had to check everything to make sure we didn't lose any. then we went to talk to the front desk. the front desk personnel told us that it might be because the housekeeper could not read the sign. are you kidding me? there are 5 languages on the sign. why would they hire someone who can't read any of those languages? third, the waitresses in the restaurant are not friendly. they are like police, always trying to make sure you are the guests and you are eating what you paid for. there is no smile on their face, and none of them is british. we tolerate with everything because of the location. next time we go, we may consider that place, but we'll know what to expect from them.
