Will stay there again

What a hotel! right next to the heart of old town tallinn - the main square just few steps away, spacious rooms (really spacious, our 4-year old could run around and didn't want to leave the room in case someone else will take it! old beam exposed, simple finishes to emphasize the original 15th century character and construction, openable windows! (i am not a big fan of the air conditioning) so lots of fresh air and deep sleep as the result. of course with younger children windows should be secured but our boy loved playing on a wide window cill. the hotel bakes their own bread - dark rye and white - both really delicious. during quite times the hot breakfast is cooked individually and is amazing - that salmon was so tasty! and runny jam - homemade too. it brought my childhood memories back. the breakfast area is really warm - something to be mindful of during the cold season. like many countries with the cold winter estonia like their indoors to be really warm - too hot for tough british))) but it is better than to be freezing cold. and underfloor heating in a spacious bathroom was just the thing! i loved that! there are no lifts in the main circulation area - may be there are some service hoists etc, but we didn't mind the steps and the staff were really helpful with the luggage. they were helpful full stop - and very friendly too. now i know the difference between the well trained staff and well trained and friendly staff. perhaps it is a part of estonian character but whatever we asked for was delivered straight away and with added warmth! on the first night we have arrived quite late and i dropped a comment about our son's allergy to dairy. the staff got him soya milk for breakfast and provided us with many other helpful things like that. while in estonia we also had a two-day trip to helsinki and managed to leave the i-phone on a boat on the way back. back in tallinn we stayed in the same hotel (our cases were waiting for us in the room) and were travelling back to the uk early in the morning. the staff tried to contact the port and the taxi companies and we eventually tracked down the phone. by this time we have already left the country and the hotel had kindly agreed to collect the lost phone from the ferry terminal and send it back to us. would we stay there again? yes we would. the best hotel experience ever.
