Good location
After reading everyone else's reviews, pretty varied, i was not quite sure what to expect... overall, the hotel was situated beautifully in walking distance from everything, close to public transportation-stops and so forth. there are also a few good restaurants in the nearby area. and it is a pretty lively area. two annoying factors at the hotel: 1) the breakfast... there are just too many rooms/visitors for the breakfast serving room. we had to queue for half an hour before a table was available. the breakfast was not very good. coffee/hot chocolate/tea was brilliant, but as usual with continental breakfast, the choice is pretty basic (and the bread is not very appetising)... 2) because we spent a lot of time out in the evenings we wanted to stay in bed for longer (go back to bed after breakfast), but the cleaning ladies wouldn't leave us and insisted on coming into the room and clean around 11-12am. however, for a two star hotel, to my knowledge the cheapest in this kind of location in venice, it was pretty good. 24hour reception, tv in the room, own bathroom.
