Nice property, average room.
I stayed at the holiday inn biltmore east for 2 days in july 2015. location is right off of i-40. short drive to restaurants and a grocery store. about 12 minutes east of downtown asheville. the 4-story building has impressive landscaping on the outside, which makes up for the lack of style in the building itself. there is a mountain lodge theme in the lobby, which is small but inviting. staff was attentive and handled my requests professionally. excellent pool area with a large pool and a covered area. again, the landscaping cleverly hides the highway so the view is of the beautiful mountains. i got a standard double room, which was clean, but very basic. the room had a small flat-screen tv on a dresser, a table with coffee maker, a few chairs and the beds. there was no refrigerator, microwave, or luggage stand. air conditioner controls are provided in the room. basic bathroom with stand-up shower was sufficient, but did not have an air vent fan. there is an above-average free breakfast with hot items from 6:30-9:30. i would have liked it to stay open a bit longer as i was sleeping in, but there are many brunch places in asheville. i did not bring pets, but the hotel is pet-friendly and even has a walking trail in the back of the property.
