Very difficult to find elevator or front desk, because casino occupied all the places, i got confused multiple times to find my floor and room, also elevator needs to scan room card otherwise it won't move, this is for extra security but disgusting. 7/11, a grocery store and walgreen within walking distance. deuce bus stop is 3 min walking distance.

If you are looking for a wonderful, clean, safe and secure hotel in the freemont/downtown las vegas area that are steps away from where all the action is, then look no further than the el cortez hotel. offering all the services you can imagine, at a price even budget travelers can afford, and a staff that is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. dollar for dollar you will not find a better hotel then the el cortez. there was only one thing that i would caution you when staying here if you are staying past 9am - while check out is not until noon. the housekeeping staff will start knocking on any door that does not have a "do not disturb" sign on it at this time. if you do, you will be left alone and if you don't you'll be asked when you plan on leaving. i do find that intrusive and unwarranted as you can check out from your rooms tv which will tell housekeeping to clean the room. other than that it's a wonderful hotel to stay at and i will be back myself and refer others to stay here.
