An absolute gem of a hotel in the heart of cannes

We had an unbelievably good stay in cannes at the hotel de france. we stayed in the busiest week of summer and it was absolutely fantastic value for money. the location is just epic - it is located in the heart of cannes (on the main street, 1-2 blocks or a 5-minute walk from the beach) and near to all the major shops and restaurants. old town and the marina are a simple 10-15 minute walk. it is also a 5-minute walk to the station (even with prams and multiple bags). the staff on arrival (and during our stay) could not have done more to ensure we had a good time - they showed us 3 different rooms when we arrived to see which one best suited a pram and travel cot, were incredibly friendly and lent us international chargers etc (when we realised we had forgotten ours). the room was large and spectacularly comfortable. the bed was huge and the bathroom spacious - this was far better than i expected from a 3-star hotel. the rooftop terrace was also lovely. the room had fantastic air conditioning and double glazing (it was therefore very quiet). i have never made mention of this before in a review, but the hotel cleaners were just spectacular, and arranged our baby's toys beautifully every day - the attention to detail was thoughtful and a lovely touch. for anyone on a budget, and for families, i could not recommend this hotel highly enough - we will definitely be back. the only downside (and this is a small complaint) is the fact that wifi isn't free (it is 3-euro per day but is very quick). room tip: room 204 was very spacious and quiet see more room tips http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/showuserreviews-g187221-d197839-r301522094-hotel_de_france_cannes-cannes_french_riviera_cote_d_azur_provence.html#
