Maintenance could do with a wake up call
Stayed here in transit from jfk. we thought by booking a well established hotel, with 4 stars to its name we'd have a safe , though pricey choice. i wish we hadn't wasted our money. whilst the shuttle service was good on the way to the hotel, the following morning was a different story - too long of a wait, shortage of seats and a trip to every terminal (rather back at the end of the air train) had many people sweating. however, i was very surprised at the poor maintenance of our room. we had a bathroom door which was prone to stick in the closed position. its on a kind of sliding door system, and ours was clearly not operating properly to the extent my husband had to 'free' me a couple of times ! a bit scary ! also one maintenance hatch in the bathroom was left open, and keys were left in the maintenance hatch in the shower. the shower handle was also broken. i reported these issues to the front desk but got the briefest of apologies - and the impression that they real weren't that bothered. walls are pretty thin too- you can hear room mates' 'toilet activity' quite clearly, so turn the tv up loud, or bring headphones !
