Booked and received confirmation for a stay at the crowne plaza heythrop park. on arrival was advised that our booking had been placed in the devere venue right next door. the two products are run on the same site and are connected through the buildings. they share the same spa and occasionally the same restaurants. however, the original accommodation we were allocated was in the oldest part of the building and was wholly inadequate. the receptionist in the devere venue was exceptionally helpful and reallocated us a newly refurbished room in the wing right next to and directly connected to the new crowne plaza development. as there was low occupancy the facilities in the devere venue were closed, so no bar open for the duration of our stay. all that aside, loved the location and the leisure facilities were excellent. the house is stunning and the grounds are extensive. would return but would ensure we clarified the room booking before we went. thanks to james on devere venue reception for turning around what was potentially a very unpleasant situation.
