The hotel has 3 restaurants, a wellness area with beauty and massage treatments, 13 meeting rooms, free Wi-Fi, parking in the same building and excellent connections with all public transport. Top location, under staffed reception and school canteen breakfast area
We just spent three nights at the catalonia barcelona plaza. i was joyfully surprised when we found out that the airport shuttle bus stopped outside the hotel and that we also had a subway station just outside the front door. the rooms are ok, but the beds are rock hard and are squeeking every time you turn around (we had to change room due to the bed, but the bed in the second room was just the same). the breakfast area was a disaster area on our first morning: it looks like a school canteen area and you had to stand in line, trying to get something to eat before it was finished. it took a good 15 minutes just to get your ordinary breakfast bread, juice and eggs before we could sit down...not a nice start of the day... the second and third breakfast was a little bit better, but the same school canteen feeling. the reception is under staffed: considering the amount of rooms at the hotel, and therefore, the amount of guests, it is not ok, or fair to the staff, to have one or maybe two people working in the reception, while guests wants to check in, check out, ask questions, the phones where ringing etc... all in all: in my opinion, this is an ok city hotel, with a good location.
