My wife and i stayed at the beverley arms on business last year and decided to have a 2 night break here between christmas and new year to see our family in nearby hull. the hotel is perfectly situated for wandering around the town and is near enough to main roads to travel the area. the hotel staff are friendly but do not expect london style 5 star efficiency. everything gets done well but at a country pace. this perhaps adds to the atmosphere. the hotel itself is a fine old building. i have not been in the newer extension at the rear but the old part is charming although the rooms could do with modernising and decorating as they are looking a bit jaded. the lift was out of order while we were there which did effect some of the older guests. the rooms are spotless and the breakfast is fine. a decent "real ale" in the bar would have been a bonus. it is really a relaxing place away from the usual hustle and bustle.
