I stayed in barin hotel for a night. at that, hotel management was very friendly, allowing us to not only to leave the baggage there (we arrived in istanbul before the check in time), but to register us and gave a full access to our rooms. i have to stress very friendly management once more. when i accidently close the safe (yes, each room has a small safe for your values) without setting a code prior, the management quickly assisted and opened it with their engeneering code (i suppose). they also ordered the shuttle to sabiha gokcen airport for us (20 eur, as i remember) and called the driver, when the shuttle was a bit late, in order to check its location and to make us calm :-) the rooms are small, but comfortable, having all necessary for your joyful accommodation. air conditioner was quite, while effective. everything was clean without flaws. the view from the window was not very attractive, but we were stayed there only for a night, so who cares... hotel is located near laleli moscque, in ald part of the city. walking to hagia sophia takes about 30 min, about the same - to galata bridge over golden horn bay. the only thing i can not recommend in this hotel is its restaurant. the reason is that we didn't use it, being late for breakfast in the morning and being in the city for the rest of the day. in short: i definitely recommend this hotel for everybody, who wants cheap but clean and friendly accommodation with minimal necessary comfort. possibly not perfect for honeymoons, though.
