Nghtclub

From the pictures of the outside the hotel looks pleasant and in a good street. what you cannot see is the nightclub attached to the hotel. as you enter the hotel reception when the club is open you can see through a glass door the club. the music and noise from revellers went on until the early hours. i was on the first floor so it may have been a little better further up the building. it is the first hotel room i have been in that provided multiple sets of ear plugs the room itself was tatty, the shower head was not fitted properly and water spurted out onto the floor although the shower itself was ok. i was unable to lock the door from the inside as the door had been forced open previously and the door frame splintered. the breakfast was fine as was he service in the restaurant.

Russel court - shouldn't be a hotel

I was aware of the noise problem with the hotel but i though with earplugs i would manage especially as i was planning on having a few drinks myself.how bad can it be i thought to myself. well the answer is about as bad as you can imagine.it felt like the bed was in the middle of the dance floor and as for the vibrations! our glasses of water were sloshing around in the glass. i had been out all day and thought i would have been able to sleep through the eye of a hurricane.perhaps i would but not the noise levels on the first floor of the russell court.i don't think theh should be allowed operate as a hotel.the nightclub and beer gardens are obviously very successful i think they should stop there. decor was very dated and my friend got raw eggs served up for her breakfast. apart from that location was good. the music doesn't stop until 4.30 so unless you are planning on staying up that long don't book it.

Nazzy's hen 2008

I thought the hotel was lovely and reflected the feel of old , historic dublin ; ideally located central to all amenities and sight seeing . i enjoyed my stay there and thought the staff were lovely , all of them , that includes the informative and friendly taxi service used by the hotel . i will stay there again and hopefully all works going on at the rear of the hotel will be completed by then . i enjoyed my time in dublin and this was made all the more comfortable by the hotel.

Fab hotel

As a group of 40 plus women away for a weekend we were initially worried about how busy the hotel was but after a few (very expensive) drinks we just joined in with the late nights! hotel is very nice but be prepared for the noise at night, earplugs were provided so not to bad. staff were very friendly and it was a great base.

Too noisy!!!

Our first impression of russell court hotel was good. the reception area was very elegant and the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. the room was clean but very small and you have to be a contortionist to use the bathroom! we complained that the hairdryer didn't work, and although they promised to get it sorted, they didn't. the bed was very comfortable, but sleeping was another issue because we were above the main entrance at the front of the hotel. this meant that you had noise from trams that run past the hotel, and noise from people turning out from dicey's (the hotel's garden bar) up until around 1.00am (midweek - could go on later at weekend). we had had a drink in dicey's, which cost eight euros for two half pints of guinness! at 06.30am the draymen arrived to collect empty beer barrels and deliver new ones; the noise was horrendous and lasted around 15-20 minutes. breakfast was really good!

Awesome hotel

We went to dublin for one night on a girlie trip, we arrived at the hotel to be amazed by the friendly staff and fantastic decor. we did read reviews stating that the noise was unbearable however we visited when the clubs were shut during the week therefore enjoyed a nice peaceful sleep. staff were very helpful couldnt fault them at all, our room was big, with lots of room for more than three people as we had a triple room.

Time of our lives.

Stayed at this hotel from 19th dec - 21 dec 07. we have no complaints at all about this hotel, the staff were fantastic, the rooms were cosy and the food was lovely. however, if you do not like music after 10pm then the rusell court is not for you. we will return to russell court again it was perfect for us and the location is beautiful.

Do not look beneath the surface

Seems like a nice place at first, good location, nice old building, until you look beneath the surface. broken locks and furniture, hideous stains on the beds (although not the sheets thankfully) & thats not the worst of it. the worst is the noise, not from the club (as that is only open on weekends) but the staff start cluttering about (loudly) at about 0700, not what you need after a night on the town.

If you like night life - this is the place for you

We have stayed here twice. on the first occasion we were there during hallowe'en with the attendant party. on the second occasion we booked for two nights which were supposed to be night club free (the hotel boasts of two night clubs). unfortunately we were put in a room overlooking one of them on a night which in fact did have a club night, which was not very customer friendly. we were given ear plugs to help which were ok but not entirely successful. in fact the hotel advertises complementary ear plugs - we wonder why?

Hen weekend

A perfect hotel for a loud weekend if thats what you are looking for. would not recommend if you like to sleep! the 2 night clubs attatched to the hotel are popular with tourists and locals alike with music and partying continuing until 5.30am. the hotel is 10 minutes away from plenty of shops, bars and restaurants so not much walking required. the hotel itself is fine for the ammount charged although some repair is needed - the staircase is in particular need of attention (i did notice someone else had reported this in a review previously) day time staff were helpful but found that evening staff were less so. all in all a good hotel for a party weekend. you get what you pay for.
