Discover Bristol

Bristol is a city in south-west of Great Britain, is located on the Avon River that marks the border between the counties of Gloucestershire and Somerset. The city is located 70km from Cardiff and 120km from the city of Southempton. Because of its geographical position the city has a climate characterized by cold and rainy winters, so a visit should be scheduled during the summer, when temperatures are better and days longer.
The city offers visitors a tour of the River Avon to find out how vital it is the existence of the river to Bristol and let you imagine how it was in the past: it has been a very busy street of merchants and sailors coming from distant lands, it is also interesting to visit Bristol museum and Art Gallery which exhibits ancient and modern works and also has large areas of natural history, the M-Shed museum which tells the story of the city and is ideal for bringing children of all ages, the Bristol Aquarium brings you from the deep of oceans to the Mediterranean seabeds, the ship Brunel's SS Great Britain that you can explore far and wide and relive the glories of the Victorian era. We point out other attractions: the At-Bristol a beautiful museum of interactive technology ideal for a rainy day when you do not know what to do with your children, the Bristol Zoo Garden with its 400 species of animals definitely worth a visit and the Clifton Suspension Bridge city landmark and masterpiece of the Victorian era.

For history-lovers the city has many historical monuments like the Cathedral of Bristol, built in the thirteenth century in Gothic style and later rebuilt in the second half of the nineteenth century with original medieval style, Queen Square, built in the eighteenth century is a beautiful square plaza with trees and statues, the Cabot Tower was built to celebrate the Italian explorer Giovanni Caboto and Pero's Bridge opened just over ten years ago and built in honor of the Spanish slave Pero Jones.
Bristol is a vibrant city and great for shopping, as demonstrated by its 500 stores and more, especially the downtown area that is called Broadmead has shopping centers and shops to suit all budgets and all tastes, another shopping area is Clifton Village which is a neighborhood filled with little shops selling typical products of the city, and then there are two excellent shopping streets Park Street and Glouchester Road. For those who love the markets and particular objects there is the Old Market an area with very old and survived shops, still selling vintage items, in Stokes Croftthere are authentic shops, pubs and restaurants 100% English! There is also the district of Christmas Steps Art Quarter which is home to many galleries and artists' studios and there are plenty of artisans' shops who make costumes, masks and everything you need to become your favorite superhero. The area of Old City is famous for its buildings and its historic St Nicholas Market a beautiful old-style market where you can find spices from all over the world; impressive is also the Tobacco Factory Market offering a selection of organic products from the Fairtrade commerce and finally the Harbourside market a market for local Bristol's handicrafts.
