Great location, could be so much better, why let us down??
Mould on ceilings. Beds burnt with cigarette ash. Bathroom was from the 1900s with sink not even attached to the wall and very dated fictures. Entrance lobby is nice, staff were helpful and efficient. Just let down by the room, how they can charge 399 a night I dont know. They were full and couldnt swap us to another room.Shame. |

L'hotel e' situato in una buonissima posizione, appena sotto times square, vicino all'Empire State Building e a Macy's. E' inoltre ben servito dai mezzi pubblici (metro a 5 metri).
La Hall e' gigante e ghiacciata... ma quando si comincia a guardare tutto da vicino... Le camere sono piccole, poco confortevoli, e "vecchie". La pulizia lascia a desiderare, anche perchè puliscono camere che sono malandate. L'aria condizionata non è regorabile del tutto dalla camera... quindi di notte si dormiva con la trapunta!!! A noi, nella fattispecie è successo quanto segue: - piovuto acqua dal soffitto in camera - piovuto acqua dal soffitto in bagno - la doccia non si chiudeva bene e non era facilmente fuibile - nonostante la camera fosse NON FUMATORI, era una camera dove si era abbondantemente fumato! |

I had a double room in Hotel Pennsylvania for four nights. The first impression of the room was not very good since rooms clearly require some renovation. However if the looks of the room is not important to you and you are looking for a budget accommodation I'm quite sure the hotel will be just fine for you. I would not recommend this hotel for a business trip or a person who is very strict about tidiness of the hotel. However I could consider booking a room from Pennsylvania also again. This hotel is clearly a place where you just go to sleep for a night and enjoy rest of the time elsewhere.

Le camere vengono pulite per bene (meglio però lasciare sempre la mancia per la donna delle pulizie),letto comodo,il mio bagno era piccolo come uno sgabuzzino...non avete idea quanti lividi mi sono fatto!!!ehehehe
Comunque ci si trova sulla 7th avenue davanti alla Penn Station e la subway e i pullman sono facilmente accessibili. 10 min a piedi da Times Square. Per chi si adatta e a poche esigenze va benissimo. Le uniche cose che non ho sopportato sono quelle di aver pagato 50 dollari per aver usato il telefono (ho sempre chiamato solo numeri verdi quindi TOTAL FREE) e ho fatto un ora e mezza in coda per il ceck-in (dopo 9 ore di volo,1 ora all'immigrazione e 40 minuti in metropolitana considerando anche il fuso orario....non è il massimo). Comunque mi è stato detto che al Pennsylvania si va a fortuna ci sono camere bellissime e topaie...dipende dai piani... AUGURONIIIII |

the room was in a bub condition. I wasn't clean and the bathroom was.... The wall in the room was full of wather because there was a problem in the bathroom. They din't clean the bathroon when we asked. We asked to change room, they told us yes but they didn't! Prersonaly I bought towells, and I want to my relativies to take my shower!
Finaly the price is was very-very -very espensive for what it is offer!!! The room was 619. |

Having stayed at this hotel on a previous occasion, i have nothing but praise for this hotel. Yeah sure, the wait to check in can be long, but its no big deal, as we were checked it with no problems at all. Our room was absolutely massive for the two of us staying and we got clean towels delivered everyday. Its in a prime location, opposite madison square garden and a 5min walk to times square! It cant be that bad as Ice Cube was staying there last time i visited. Highly Recommended.

Pennsylvania is most excellently located in Manhatten with shopping and Broadway within easy access. Right outside the door is a subway and Madison Square Gardens/Penn Station immediately across the road, Macy's a few yards to walk.
Nearby dining options would satisfy the broadest of tastes and purses. This is an old hotel, reflected in the slightly shabby rooms though the houskeeping staff do a superb job keeping the place neat. Check-in absolutely dreadful, with only 3 of the 5 stations occupied even during the rushest of hours. Making this worse is the shrieking lobby trash sprawled all over the floor and seats, blocking access and walkways with their cheap tourist luggage. Concierge service is highly recommended with enthusiastic and capable staff able to get tickets for shows at short notice and expert at transportation options. I'd probably stay again...unless I get rich. Good value for money. |

Grande albergo con una reception sempre affollata dalle piu' disparate persone..bande musicali, scolaresche, turisti, majorette...Camera piccola, letto da una piazza e mezza per 2 e assenza di tv via cavo in camera come da come scritto su sito.

The hotel is so close to everything, great value for money I say. Only thing was that our room didn't have a main light switch, they only had lamps and the tap was dripping constantly.

The location was ideal. Across the road from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, one block from Macys, less than 5 min walk to Empire State Building and walking distance to Times Square, Park Ave, 5th Ave, etc... for those spots a little further out, the subway was across the road.
Reception looks good but the queues to check in and check out were a bit annoying and there was no concierge or information desk, so to ask quick question or to get something out of your safe deposit boxes could take over 30 mins. Rooms were a little old fashioned but were clean and adequate. Staff were very friendly & helpful. |

The hotel has definately lost it's sparkle and is quite shabby but that was reflected in the price and the rooms were always clean.
Location was excellent but the staff were a little abrupt and not very helpful. |

My daughter and I had booked a Standard Twin Room. After a long flight from Scotland, and standing in a line at Reception for almost an hour, they offered a double room. We didn't want that so they gave us a twin but when we arrived at the allocated room it was occupied by two people who said they were leaving - they didn't like the room. We didn't like the look of it either and were disgusted to find the beds had been used! Phoned Reception and after a lengthy wait and a demand to speak to the Manager they gave us a room on the Corporate Floor which fortunately turned out to be large and extremely well appointed as we were almost at the point of looking for another hotel but it was late evening by this time. Definitely wouldn't go for a Standard room here. Reception needs to be manned by more people - always queues.

Checking in, business like, brusque, when I made mistake with number of nights, lady on Reception was really helpfull, which helped my level of distress. Room clean, but very dark due to lack of adequate lighting.

Hotel bien situé, mais l'état général ne correspond pas à ce que nous attendions. Chambres vieillottes, pas rénovées, salle de bain ancienne, ne parlons pas de l'esaclier intérieur dont les platres se décollent..... Au niveau rapport qualité-prix nous attendions mieux.
