The lobby area is small, but bright and spacious.

Exterior

Traditional hotel, originally built in 1640, although a modern conservatory and bedroom block extension has been built at the back. The hotel also has very spacious gardens for guests to relax in during the summer.

Rooms

They are medium in size and in good decor. The bedrooms consist of 53 in the modern section of the building and 20 in the original building. All rooms have bath and shower, television and hospitality tray. Most of the rooms in the new wing have been completely refubished but there are still some in the old wing to be done. The style of decor in the bedrooms is very cottage like.

Slightly disappointed

We booked our stay on 02/01/15 and free parking was advertised at this hotel, when we arrived on 31/01/2015 we were told that the hotel was no longer part of the legacy group and we had to pay £5.00 per parking charges - i have never paid to park in a hotel where i was a guest.
the room we stayed in was ok but there were damp and mould patches in one corner of the room.
all in all the hotel needs a refurbishment.
full english breakfast - small to say the least.
staff on reception were friendly and welcoming.
