Lobby
The lobby open up three floor to the glass roof where natural sunlight brightens up the interior. Old style check in counters, the grandfather clock, the carpets are all original amidst the white marble floor and teak staircase to recreate that old world charm.
Exterior
Restored to its original splendour of 1886, the hotel has been tastefully restored as well as improved upon with extensions and modern fittings. The facade is an icon of Singapore and no visit is complete without a visit and a photograph taken at the entrance. The lush green garden, gravel driveway and doorman delivers one back a century in time.
Rooms
The rooms are large with high ceilings. They have ceiling fans as well as full airondtioning. Furnishing are old world style with cupboards and dressing table and bed. Bathrooms are galzed tiled, again of the turn of the century style. There is a sitting parlour with a bar and TV at the entrance and beyond the parlour threshold is the bedroom proper. All the charms of the old world with the functionality of the modern.
