Trip to edinburgh

I can not speak highly enough of this hotel, it was amazing... the overall value and feel of the hotel was just lovely... me and my friend where on a political trip to scotland, and this was a great hotel to relax and spend all night in.

Maid's room in grand house

This hotel is a former grand town house in the wealthy area of edinburgh called morningside. unfortunately, my single room was a former maid's room in the attic. it was awful: a tiny room, 2 floors up without a lift, a minuscule 40 cm square window, no chair, no bedside table, a bare light bulb in the bedroom and the bathroom light was broken. the paint above and next to the bed was peeling off the walls. the window was rotten. the bed was good and clean but the carpet was grubby. this is the most basic room you could imagine and i would not recommend to anyone. after complaining, i was given a better room on the second night. this was bigger and on the first floor. it was better equipped. there is a pub in the hotel which seemed popular at the week-end. the hotel is quite a distance from the city centre. it has its private car park. the area is very quiet.
