Set in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, the Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel is a 4-minute walk from JR Shinjuku and Seibu Shinjuku train stations. Originally conceived to occasionally host commuter workers just for one night, the Capsule Hotels still maintain this feature: to each guest is assigned a capsule where to sleep and a locker where to store the luggage. The capsule unit features outlets, a panel to control the alarm, a small TV and a dimmer switch. Guests must strictly follow some rules, which are explained by the staff on check-in. A reserved women-only floor is also available. From the Haneda International Airport (HND) it takes about 30 minutes by public transport to the Capsule Hotel. Very close to the vibrant Shinjuku Golden Gai area, popular for its narrow streets, bars and nightlife, the hotel is not too far from the traditional Hanazono Jinja Shrine.
