The park derives its origin from Pitiana remakes nineteenth century who completed the conversion of the structure from farm to Villa. The arboretum is filled with plants of altofusto non-indigenous but imported, as in the norm of the orchards of the English style of the century. Pitiana Arboretum, is located in the immediate vicinity of the villa. It is one of the most important orchards of Tuscany, along with that of Vallombrosa. Each tree has a sign at the bottom which shows the name of the plant in Italian and Latin, and a brief description of the plant and its origins.
