Discover Nice

Nice is one of the main cities of Côte d’Azur, along the Southern coast of France, about 18 miles from the Italian border.

The city has always been one of the most appreciated French destinations, not only in the Riviera. Its climate also makes it a good destination for the winter holidays. As far as hotels are concerned, Nice is the second most equipped French city, after Paris.

For those traveling along Côte d’Azur, stopping in Nice, Monte Carlo, Cannes and Grasse, the city of perfumes, is absolutely a must. Nice is often considered a luxury destination. Actually the city offers a wide range of choices, from family hotels to luxury five starred hotels, affordable B&B and all-inclusive residences, allowing people to find the best accommodation according to their budgets.

Nice: What To See

Situated on the Bay of Angels, on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice offers equipped beaches and a very nice coast. Besides that, tourists and visitors can also enjoy lots of interesting places, such as the world famous Promenade des Anglais with its breathtaking sunsets.

Another absolutely interesting part of Nice is the Old City, the historical center with remarkable places such as the Cours Saleya flower market, the baroque Cathedral of Sainte Réparate on Place Rossetti, the Palace de L'Opéra on Rue St François de Paule and the Garibaldi statue in the homonymous Place. Another outstanding monument in the Old City is the Chapel of Mercy, one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in the entire world.

Close to the old city lies Castle Hill and the remains of a fortified building; on top the hill is the lovely Parc du Chateau, a park where you can see beautiful panoramic views of Nice and its neighbors.
br> If time is tight, here are the main interesting places in Nice and some tips to take the best out of your stay.

Museums in Nice

The tourist and cultural offer is enhanced by several museums, some of which are particularly interesting.
Among these, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, with works from the School of Nice, its following and previous artistic currents, the Matisse Museum, dedicated to the artist who lived in Nice between 1917 and 1954, or the Jules Chéret Museim of Arts are certainly worth a visit.

Casinos in Nice

There are two casinos in Nice, the Casino Ruhl, on Promenade des Anglais, and Palais de la Méditerranée, a luxury five-star hotel on the promenade. The city offers many natural tourist attractions, related to nature (sea and beaches are the symbols of Côte d’Azur) history (especially in the Old City) and entertainment.
Nice is a great holiday destination. Not only in the summer, but throughout they year.

Recommended Hotels in Nice

If you want to visit Nice, and take advantage of special offers, we recommend the following hotels, among the best in town:
Hotel Nouvel – 2 stars
Hotel Gounod – 3 stars
Hotel Vendome – 3 stars
Hotel West End – 4 stars

Climate in Nice

Climate is one of the most appreciated characteristics of Nice and the entire Côte d’Azur. The sea and the Alps form a natural protection, which brings warm summers, mild winters and not too much rain, especially compared to the Northern part of the country.

Considering the beauty of the sea, one of the best moments to plan a tour or a holiday in Nice and better experience the city is the summer. Nice is actually one of the most requested summer destinations by the French themselves and other European tourists, Italians included.
Apart from this, Nice can be easily visited anytime through the year.

How To Reach Nice

For those willing to reach Nice by plane, Nice Côte d'Azur is the third French airport, right after the two Parisian ones. The airport is linked with the main European cities and many extra-European destinations. The town can easily be reached with a shuttle bus.

If you choose the train, Trenitalia offers connections with many Italian cities such as Milan, Rome, Florence, Genoa and Venice.

Those coming from Northern or central Italy may also consider traveling by car on the A8 highway: the recommended exit if number 55, East Nice.
