Ok - but wouldn't return
First impressions very good. nice entrance, reception etc. wasn't able to get in room early which is unusual, so had to wait in bar which was nice. reception staff very helpful. used gym, reasonable range of equipment, but i think they were doubling it up as a sauna!! certainly not the air conditioning you would expect from a gym. pool looked nice but didn't use. room clean, shower not quite as good as expected, but okay once used to. the restaurant was nice enough (decor) but breakfast was terrible, very poor selection, poor quality, (it seemed like the later you arrived the less interested the staff were and the worse the food was). restaurant staff were not as polite or helpful as i would expect. also, leaning across you & your plate of food to collect used bowls etc (a pet hate of mine). restaurant service/food improved slightly in the evening, but it was only mediocre at best. location ok (cricklewood is what it is!). bit of a trek to tube (kilburn), although cricklewood train station is just around the corner and can get you into london (st pancras - avoid like the plaque especially saturday lunch time, or quickly on to the northern line). bus service from outside the hotel regularly runs into london but has the habit of stopping what seems like every 200 yards!!). the weekend we were there the jubilee line was shut (kilburn) so transport was a bit of a nightmare. as stated above, hotel was okay but would not return. i've stayed in a lot better 4*'s in better parts of london.
