Discover Benguela

Benguela is a municipality of Angola, located at about 430 miles from Luanda. Established in 1617, the town was one of the most important commercial centres in the region, and was used mainly for the slave trade to Brazil and Cuba. Situated a few kilometres west of Benguela, the town of Baia Farta is famous for its salt pans and sulphur deposits.
