Decent and comfortable

Visconti palace has a good location with respect to rome' city centre, the vatican en the piazza del popolo area. it is a bit large (200 rooms?), but it has most of the corresponding servives. the rooms are nice and large. the building itself is getting old and ugly anyway, but comfort and price are excellent.

Modern haven in rome

Beautiful modern hotel, two steps from piazza cavour. close enough to everywhere, but away from the main tourist sites and the crowds. the prati area seems to be a lot more italian and less tourist filled than other central areas, and often while dining in the restaurants around the hotel (there are lots!) we were the only non-italians there. very close to the shops as well, being in between cola di rienzo and il corso.
