Very pet unfriendly!!

We chose this hotel for the great offer at hotelsclick. before booking we asked to the hotel if they would accept our little dog (5kg). they declared to accept small size dogs at the price of 5 euros a night, but dogs could not stay in common spaces, such as restaurant and swimming pool. we accepted because the price was very good and because we experienced in the past that this prohibition was not applied at our lovely and quiet dog. we arrived at noon in the hotel, our room was not ready yet. beaucause of the prohibition for dogs to stay at the swimming pool, we had to wait around the village with a very hot weather. then when we got a room with the worst available view, therefore we asked to upgrade to one with view on the swimming pool (for 10 euros a night more). during all the period the prohibition for dogs to stay at the swimming pool was rigidly applied, therefore we had to wait every morning the cleaning of our room before going to the swimming pool. finally, the last day after the check-out, we could not go to the swimming pool as all other customers without pets. therefore, we paid 50 euros more to not have any additional service. beyond the dog, we had to pay an extra fee (4 euros per person/night) for club card giving access to swimming pool, towels and seaside facilities. we had to discover that they seaside facilities are located in the worst part of the coast with the view of closed old factories and with a beach full of stones. we came back to hotel very disappointed. finally, at the moment of the check-out (10 am) we asked if we could stay a couple of hours more. before checking if it were possible the receptionist told us that this would cost an extra fee of 30 euros, and then she said that it was not possible because the room was already assigned to a new customer. summing up, we believe that the hotel cannot be recommended to pet oweners that could receive a much greater hospitality elsewhere. the only great equiment is the swimming pool, that is the largest we have ever seen in a hotel. breakfast is plentiful, but not special. most of the food was unfrozen (as croissant) and not fresh baked, the fruit juice was prepared with powder and water. the equipment in the bathroom were old and of doubtful quality. we thank very much the room service staff and the restaurant service staff for their kindness and to be always smiling to us. from this experience, next time we will choose only pet friendly hotels.
