Rest and peace in cairo

My wife and i wanted some peaceful days in the wonderful climate in cairo before we returned to norway after a 3 weeks stay in sudan. we found sheraton dreamland hotel on internet from hotelclick.com. our overall impression is that this is a nice place to stay for those who want to retract from the noicy parts of central cairo. but be aware: there is no local restaurants or any malls nearby. you have to rely on taxi to get around. the hotel's limousine service has fixed prises for different locations, but the driver is eager to get som extra tips. this might be somewhat annoying, especially if the driver give you a feeling of not beeing satisifed with what you give. our advice: give the driver an idea of what you are willing to pay from the moment you enter the car. the hotel has an ok reataurant, but for those who are staying for a longer period of time we guess that the meny is rather boaring. our room was nice, with a nice overview of the pool area. we hade a good time swimming and relaxing by the pool. the taxi trip to the airport took us some 70 minutes, but with a fixed price of 220 pound it was ok.
