My daughter and i stayed here when we went to watch the musical 'wicked'. the staff were friendly and accommodated us earlier than check in. the room was bright, airy and impeccably clean. the hotel is close to the shopping centre... which was great for returning to drop bags off and going out shopping again.

I have just come home from a weekend stay at the britannia. it was really enjoyable and i would definitely recommend this hotel and will use it again if visiting manchester. as other reviews suggest there is quite a contrast between rooms. i was in a twin room with a friend for the first night, it was ok, a bit tatty and on the 4th floor which meant a small window too high to look out of, but i wasn't disappointed. the second night another friend joined us and we upgraded to a triple room, this was unexpected and the staff were very helpful in finding us another room and transferred our cases for us while we were out. the triple room we had on the 1st floor was lovely, a big tall window looking out onto the city, with plenty of room and overall very grand and we were very impressed. it was warm enough and we all slept very comfortably. the staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. the location was perfect, right in the heart of the city, a few minutes walk from the train station. i look forward to visiting it again soon!!

This hotel is fantastic, the rooms are comfortable and roomy. staff are very ffriendly and the location is fantastic.
