Magical views

I'm a native atlantan who remembers when the peachtree plaza was built. in the past 3 years, my daughter got engaged at the amazing, rotating sundial room atop the hotel. our son celebrated his graduation from georgia tech in that same restaurant, and then we treated him and friends to a room there. but our first overnight stay was to celebrate our 44th anniversary, and we were not disappointed at check in, we mentioned the occasion we were there for and were asked if they could send something up to our room before dinner. everyone was very accommodating and we were booked for a room on the 66th floor. the concierge made our dinner reservations at the sundial and congratulated us. our room was updated and immaculate. all photos were from our room windows, which were floor to ceiling. you pay about $10.00 more for the deluxe over the traditional, but it says it's more updated and guarantees you a higher floor and the views!! dinner was pricey but good. drinks at the upstairs bar are fun and tasty. all staff was friendly and professional. and they sent up a complimentary 375ml bottle of chardonnay and a plate of 5 white and milk chocolate dipped strawberries for our occasion! my only negative was that when my husband or i awakened during the night, it was hard to go back to sleep because we just wanted to keep staring at that view--and clouds rolling in over those skyscrapers. it was a magical stay!
