The hotel has an elegant, classic style white stone facade, with the centrepiece being a charming courtyard which houses the reception. With effect from the 1st September 2009 the hotel will carry out renovation... Never again.
Chosing this hotel was quite difficult; i was looking for something cheap, or at least not too expensive, near the downtown and with the minimun, than means "clean, proper, and helpfull staff". when looking at copenhagen options i realised it´s quite expensive compared to other cities, and this hotel near the train station with 3 stars, a "trip advisor badge" and being an ibis hotel seemed, online, good enough. i was completely wrong. honestly, i think that "trip advisor badge" should be reviewed. pro´s: - near the downtown; just 5 minutes walk to the train station and 10min away by walk from the city centre. - quite cheap compared to other copenhage hotels. - it has a big lidl store just 3 min by walk, which is something usefull for a quick dinner/breakfast. cons: - the neighbourghood is not very good, with a lot of poor people and prostitues in the surrondings. during my stay, one night there was a prostitute and her client at the reception asking for a room. the hotel staff send them away but anyway it was not nice at all, and not what i´m looking when travelling. - the building and the rooms are really old with a lot of things broken or not working. the hotel clearly needs some maintenance and repairs. - it´s really really unclean: i have to say it´s one of the worst hotel i´ve been, when talking about cleaning. the first night i realised that inside the nightstand there were food leftovers. i thought it could be an isolated issue. but the second night i realized that no-one had clean the room during the entire day, leaving at the room not only the mentioned leftovers but also two cups of coffee that we had taken to the room that morning. the cleaning staff i don´t know if they came and did nothing or if they directly didn´t come. maybe there where not cleaning staff at all. - the staff is not nice or helpfull. they only answer our questions when we asked for something. never smiled or offer a city map, indications ... not even looking at us when talking to us. this really schok me. - the breakfast is a cold buffet with few things to choose, with nobody cleaning the tables after each use. - the standard rooms are a bit small and the one´s near the lift has a lot of noise during the night. * the hotel has free wifi at the rooms but only 100kbs. if you want more you have to pay.
