Value for money

This hotel is very well placed, especially for tourists being less than a mile to picadilly, half a mile to oxford street and a quarter of a mile to the british museum. likewise people needing to be near the children's hospital at great ormond street or the national neurological hospital would be very well placed. by london prices it is reasonably priced and its breakfast bar and "eat all you want" luncheon menu are good value. the staff are friendly and helpful - mainly from abroad - without being over deferential (this is not the ritz). the rooms are smallish but adequate, clean and air conditioned if required. light sleepers might want to ask for a room at the back and on a higher floor. there are plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants nearby and the area feels safe. there are many bus routes at hand (sensible to get day or weekly passes)and the tube is 400 yds away. overall a good find

3 nghts at waverly house

We spent a three night break in london and found waverly house well placed for theatre land, the river and shopping along oxford street.we had a room on the 2nd floor and, although are view was only of a brick wall, it was very peaceful and quiet. the room and en-suite,despite being small by some standards, was clean, well maintained and very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. a full buffet breakfast was available and set us up for the day ahead. all the staff were friendly and helpful.
