General

This city hotel is the perfect base from which to discover Amsterdam and its surrounding area thanks to its accessibility both by car and public transport. Renovated in 2007, it comprises a total of 186 rooms over 11 floors. Facilities on offer to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour check-out service, lift access and WLAN Internet access. Furthermore, each floor has its own service point where the guests can buy a drink or chocolate bar and there is a parking garage for those arriving by car. The restaurant is located on the first floor and serves breakfast only. Group meals are available upon request. It is a very large and spacious area with cherry wood furniture, large windows and a large, modern, buffet area.

Lobby

The lobby is very large and impressive with white faux leather seating, various other forms of seating, a black and white tiled floor and very attractive ceiling lighting that constantly changes colour. In the near future, a bar will be incorporated into this area but at the time of writing, this was not yet completed.

Exterior

This is a modern, purpose-built block, with a very blue exterior, giving the hotel its name.

Rooms

As this property only opened in June 2007, the bedrooms are in very good condition. They are all medium- to large-sized with cherry wood furniture, flat screen televisions and artwork on the walls. The bathrooms are modern and also in very good condition with black marble sinks, beige tiles and glass shower screens. All have both power showers and hand held showers and all have a bath, except the double rooms, which have very large power showers. There are safety deposit boxes large enough for laptops as well as air conditioning in all rooms, but there are no mini bars. Most twin rooms consist of two beds pushed together. All rooms are non smoking.

Restaurant

The restaurant is located on the first floor and serves breakfast only. Group meals are available upon request. It is a very large and spacious area with cherry wood furniture, large windows and a large, modern, buffet area.

this hotel is an excellent place to stay, the beds were very comfortable, rooms very clean, plenty of towels in bathroom, breakfast was brilliant, I have no complaints everything about my stay in this hotel was excellent.

Weekend in Amsterdam

First impressions of the outside of the hotel is not good,but once inside the hotel is smart & clean. The reception staff were helpful, and the location of the hotel is ideal if you want to travel around.The tram is 2 minutes walk, and in 15 minutes you are in central Amsterdam. If you have a car the deal for parking is terrific. The car park next to the hotel charges Euro 6 per 24 hours, and this includes 2 free return tickets to travel in to central Amsterdam.

Booked the hotel for a mixed group ranging from 17 to 48 years old.
First impressions were that it was a bit blue but once we got inside I thought that the place was really quite decent.
Staff at reception were friendly and helpful and our rooms were great.
We had paid for breakfast as well and I can't complain about it, there was as much as you wanted, was tasty and although there was a cut-off time the staff didn't seem to mind if we stayed a little longer.
Overall thought it was a good quality friendly place and would definitely recommend it.
