The hotel is a very old, traditional building that once belonged to the Midland railway company. It was always been well maintained to a high standard.

The rooms are medium in size, and equipped with full facilities, including air conditioning. They each have two double beds and are well decorated with floral fabrics and oak furnishings.
Restaurant
There are three restaurants in the hotel; a fine dining French restaurant, the Trafford room, serving a buffet and carvery and the stylish nico central. The hotel also has two bars.
