Location

Edinburgh First is part of the main University of Edinburgh campus located within walking distance of the Royal Mile and many of the main attractions. The hotel buildings are set in the shadow of Arthur's Seat, the magnificent extinct volcano that rises 800 metres above the city.

Exterior

The main entrance to the reception building is modern, whilst the accommodation blocks themselves are modern and purpose-built.

Rooms

The complex is comprised of both single standard rooms with shared facilities and single and double en-suite rooms. The standard single rooms are split between six diffferent houses - Baird, Brwester, Ewing, Grant, Lee and Turner. All are of a good basic standard with bright pastel decor and light wood furnishing. The en-suite single rooms are located in Holland House and the double en-suite rooms are in Masson House. All en-suite rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, whilst the standard rooms have use of a shared kitchen area. Linen, toiletries and towels are provided in all rooms, which are serviced daily. All rooms are non-smoking.

Restaurant

Breakfast is served in the John McIntyre Centre in the heart of the campus grounds. Light meals can also be taken in the bar.
